I have an e36 parts car that I pulled the rack out of to install into my E30. My E30 has a manual steering box with an incredibly slow and painful 4.8 turns lock-to-lock. So I pulled the joint between the column and rack off of an E30 318i (baur)cabrio w/ power steering. As it turns out, it's solid in the middle and cannot be shortened...ffffuuuuu...oh well, back to the 'yard.
EDIT-Well, after perusing Realoem, it seems as if in Germany they use a 1pc lower section on all models. Totally different part #(but same pic)
