Yes I've searched...;)
I recently swap an E36 rack into my e30 and thought that the E30 "clamps" that hold the inner and out tierods together were fine to use with the swap (in the back of my mind I was yelling at myself it wasn't right too) with new E36 tie rods (inner AND outer). Well I just had an alignment done and the tech asked if I had the "cone" shaped bolts that thread onto the inner tie rod and "tighten" over the cuff on the out tie rod to lock them in place. I did not...
Does it matter which one is used? I can see how the bolt/sleeve threaded onto the inner rod would be a better design but I'm not sure if it is just a bolt or a bolt and sleeve as shown on realoem (32111136494 and 32111136179, a hex nut and clamp ring respectively).
I can just mark the TR's where they are and get the pieces but I'd just liek to verify those are the right ones I should get.
Thanks!
