In am in the process of putting in my E36 rack from a 97 328 into my 92 airbag 325ic and have ran into a bit of a challenge (or at least it's a challenge to me). I have installed the rack with new tie rods and have the rack up and in. The high pressure line going from the rack to the pump is done using the original E30 hose.
The hose from the reservoir to the pump (larger line from the reservoir with 16mm banjo end) is simple enough.
The issue I am having is with the other line from the reservoir (smaller line with 16mm banjo end) to the rack. I have been trying to work around the motor mount and the other line but can' seem to get the hose to line up even remotely.
In an effort to bend the rigid portion of the hose enough to fit I kinked it, so that is that for that hose.
I wish I could just get the fittings and put new hose on them but the issue with that is the hard lines have the same size ends (16mm) but the hose sizes are not the same and even to use barbed portion of the hard line on the smaller line I will still need to bend it drastically to fit.
I found a 16mm barbed banjo bolt female end on ebay but it has a 1/2" barb which is the size for the larger hose and the problem I am having is with the smaller hose.
I can order another E30 line but then I'm in the same boat. The E36 line has the large cooling coil and the reservoir is in a much different location.
PLEASE HELP!!!!! My garage floor is getting done soon and I need this car out!!!
I know this may be tough to follow but please if you did kinda follow it can you help me out.
