haha that bong was the first thing i noticed. OP there is a good chance I will be selling my set of used H&R sport springs within the next few weeks in case you are interested -
fixt.
fronts are okay, so long as you're cutting only the dead coils at the expense of increasing spring rate.
Rears, as mentioned, have to follow a specific shape to maintain their mounting. OP, just get rear coil springs without adjusters.Leave a comment:

lol, i've got some air many times and they haven't fell out yet but i know what you mean. i know they're a different size i had to cut the other piece off after, i measured them both the same. i'm also getting some coilovers with in the next few weeks, it's only temporary.Lol don't cut the rears if the suspension jumps up over railroad tracks or something they will fall out!
Friend of mine does inspections. Someone brought their e30 in with cut rear springs. He put it on the lift for inspections and immediately the rear springs fell out. Needless to say it didn't pass...
Lowering springs are long enough to keep contact with both spring seats when the shock is fully extended but a softer spring rate, cut springs are not. This is the only unsafe thing I see. Also the springs are tapered.
In the front the second loop is noticeably bigger in diameter than the first and does not fit in the strut well. This concerns me. Yes I did it. Once. Never again...Leave a comment:

i read all the shit about how bad cut springs are, decided to do it anyways, i barely even noticed a difference and i cut more than one coil. Still have to get rid of that wheel gap in the front. just do it, if you don't like then get some new springs..
