Easiest way to determine what springs you need is measure the ones you have now. If you go to GC and keep the perch in the same place relative to the spindle and run the same springs, you will be at the same height (or close) to where you were before. -
Based on your ride height pic assuming you're on stock length strut housings which I'm 90% sure you are (Bilstein sports don't come shorter, only iX HD's do), I'd got 5" springs front and rear with 440/650 rates. If you already have the dampers you want to use, GC springs and adjusters are only $400 a set brand new. If you only buy springs, you'll still need adjusters. IDK if GC springs will work with JOM adjusters, but I do know that GC adjusters are FAR superior in quality and adjustability. And you probably don't even have adjusters in the rear with JOM's, you can't do that on GC's.Leave a comment:

the collar moves up and down the thread sleeve adjusting height. you need to talk to GC directly, they'll set you up with the proper spring length, most 2.5" springs come in 4,5,6,8,10" lengths.
your best bet is to stop looking for interwebz quick answers because everyone is bias as hell and call Mark at GC. tell him EXACTLY what you have now, and what you want to accomplish. they'll set you straight.
IronFreak is right. I am very new to E30s and have never seen such primitive front suspension designs before but I called GC and in a quick 5-minute phone call he explained everything I needed to know when the time came to make a decision.
Ironfreak eventually I may be PM-ing you about some fabrication of my own struts since I already have koni yellows but need to bump my spring rates in the front and back.Leave a comment:

E36m3 coils for 5-lug swap

4-lug with a generic setup

I have some others of a GC setup I did for a 4-lug setup somewhere in the Suspension subsection as well.
GC is amazing quality, I prefer Koni over billy, but it all depends what you're actually going to do with the car.
I dont get this whole spring height thing.... How would i know what height i need to have my car lowered the way i want... Can u help me with that? Or if i just get the gc adjustable coils would that do the job? How much would it lower the car?Leave a comment:

You cant get different length of springs. standard kits have 5" you can get 4" but your rates will be higher and harsh. Like said above, you need to find out what shocks you have....you might need to spend more money then you think getting a car to ride properly without destroying important parts.Jom is junk.. I would of never put it on my car if i was the PO.... Apparently jom coils can drop around 3in. Im guessing thats what i have at the moment.... I just checked GC and its saying around 2.2in drop thats a big difference.. I like the hight of the car as is, which one would be close to jom height but better?Leave a comment:

JOM's arent coilovers. they come from factory gone and shot. they are crap springs and perches.
also, what type of bilstein shocks do you have? if they are the HDs they will be sitting on the bump stops all the time. if they are bilstein sports you are ok.
HR race/IE3 springs are really nice but sit higher.
if you want real coilovers you will want to contact Ground-Control and you can order the spring rates you need. if you are on the poor side, BC is another good option and you can use your shocks if they are the billy sports.
Hahahahaa i know jom sucks lol... Yea i have bilstein sports, how much would gc go for?Leave a comment:
