Hey gang,
When I bought my E30, I immediately purchased the a rear subframe reinforcement kit, figuring I "knew" I was going to need it.
I've since purchased a sway kit that comes with mounts that are reinforced by bolting into the trunk.
I've got 2 questions:
1) Is running 2 reinforcements overkill or do people commonly do this?
2) All the reinforcement plates seem to look the same -- they weld around the metal mounts from the body. But on the passenger side, the fill-pipe and associated support is adjacent to the sway mount. It seems like a hassle to disassemble and reattach it (though, admittedly, I haven't spent much time looking at it). Does everyone do this disassembly/reattaching or am I missing something? Seemed like a mount could have been made for that side that would easily weld around the structure. *shrug*
For context, the car is being built for Spec E30.
Thanks for the feedback!
