i ran 9.5 et9 out back and they were only a hair past flush.

there is a simple concept you are not grasping here.

the e36 rear suspension is wider than the e30 stuff, relative to the fenders. so even though the e36 can run the wheels, they will stick out way further on an e30 than than e36.

offset is a totally relative measurement that only applies to the wheels themselves and how they fit...relative to the mounting surface. so if the mounting surface is further out, the wheels will also sit further out.

take a minute and read what the people in here are telling you and think about it. think about it.

you can still potentially run the 9.5's if you have the right setup...

if you read what has been said and do a little research into where the e30m3 set up sits you might find with some slight fender massaging it is possible to fit the 9.5's out back with that offset. I'm not saying it is for sure cause i don't know where the e30m3 arms sit but if you get that information we can help you truely find out if it will work or not. You are asking questions and then ignoring the answers...

the z3M arms are teh worst possible for your situation... they will sit out crazy far

The rears will not fit. You should sell the rears and run 17x7.5 fronts all around with 235/40/17

Look at aptyps' writeup on the 5 lug swap. He shows what trailing arms work and what dont.
I believe that the e30 M3 arms are the same as 4 lug arms, simply with different bearings/hubs.
The z3 arms are all the same width (i think) but the //M version has hubs and brakes that dont protrude out as far, hence the crazy offset rims

your wheels are 2 inches wider then mine and your offset is smaller by 2MM so your wheel will actually stick 2in's and 2mm farther then mine... which is 52MM and I rub now.

you're correct that 9 et9 won't fit with an e36 5-lug swap.

your math is off though, the wheels will stick out 27mm further.
