I don't know much when it comes to tires, so admittedly I'm not really sure what to get.... so, I'm enlisting your help r3v! :) I've been running around with some runway enduro 606 tires for the past four years just because that's what were on the E30 when I bought it. They seemed to last for a long time. I've put over 30k miles on them, and they still have plenty of thread left, but I'm starting to notice cracks in the sidewalls. This is for a DD that will see 85% highway commuting and absolutely no tracktime, only short bursts of spirited drives at most.
I was looking at the kumho solus KH16 just because those tires are on the family AWD SUV. I don't drive it though, so I have no idea how the tires would perform and reviews seem mixed.
my requirements:
-205/50/16
-$400 max
-all season (probably grand touring all season, I don't think I need the high performance ones?)
-needs to be pretty resilient to hydroplaning and needs to be able to stop well in the wet
-needs to last a while (was shooting for 45k+ miles)
-quiet as possible
