I was considering to use 225/40 rear, and 215/40 front tires, or maybe i should go with 215/40 all around?
    Thx!
Put the ET15 wheels on the rear. Mount the ET25s up front with a 15mm spacer. 205/45 all around is best.

      Thank you, i'll do it!
But isn't it ugly to put ET15 rear, and ET25 front?
One more question, if i put 15et with 5mm spacer at the front, and 25et with 10-15mm spacer on the rear, how it works, will it rub?
In the future i will probably remove iX fender flares, so i could roll fender and what setup you suggest then to make it look better?
Thank you once more, and im sorry for being annoying...

How about a 87 cabrio with oem body, e30 5 lug swap and coil overs ?

running 205/50/16 with 15mm front hub centric spacers due to bbk, but it only needs 6mm at most.

            Thanks.

Do early model cars have wider wheel wells?
I have a 1985 325e body with Hartge Type A 16x7.5 et25 wheels and would like to know the widest square setup (for tires) that I can use. From reading the forum it seems that 225/45/16 tires will fit except I don't know about the early model vs late model wheel well difference.

                Thanks.

205/40s and it'll fit perfect. 215s will rub.

Yes, early cars have several mm more space for rear tires. But with either a late or an early car, your wheels can fit 225/45/16s all around without modification.

Jay, I will be switching to e30 M3 5-lug with 17x8 and 17x9 Style 32's (et20/26 respectively). I am decided on running 235/40 in the front. My question is what size to run in the rear with the 9". I would like to run a 245/40, but they are hard to match. Just FYI, I am heavily rolled in front with no fender liner and heavily rolled in rear with upper bump hammered out, so maybe 255/40 might work? Height adjustable as well on suspension with fairly stiff spring rates. Thanks for the help.

Great thread, finally registered to ask a question.

1991 318is, stock suspension and 17x7 et40 wheels with 205/40 tires. What size spacers would be best?

16x8 et 23 18mmf/20mmr adapters with 205/50. On coilovers with camber plates in the front.

IMO, nothing larger than a 215/40 will work up front. 235/40 rears is also pushing it.

Ideally, 25mm. But they're heavy and expensive. 20mm all around is good.
