New Member Here – Old-School Wrencher

Just joined the forum! I’ve been turning wrenches for decades, mostly on older BMWs and classic cars. I love keeping things simple, mechanical, and honest, nothing beats a well tuned E30.

Old tech still is more fun to drive than new tech.

My1988 325is had its engine built by an E30 enthusiast
tech (NLB) over 100k miles ago. All stock except for the S50 rods, Stromung exhaust and JB aluminum flywheel. Spools up quickly for a stock engine; just requires a little finesse on SF hills.

Only other change is the 15-inch Euroweaves; it was cheaper to have 5 new ones than buying used one and refinishing them.

Only wear part still original is the power steering pump; car has over 330k miles on the chassis.

it isn't so smart. when the collapse comes the plug gets pulled and they go down with us anyway. it's tied to the grid even closer than we are.
