This thread was so funny!! Rear fogs, tailgating, cupcakes, quarters and nickels, highschoolers, highway and residential speeding, talking to ones self.....it has it all!! You should make a short film!! Really, if thats how he deals with tailgaters, let him be. If someone gets pissed enough to run him of the road and shoot him for flipping on his lights that is his problem. I will have to say my favorite part is when he was talking to himself while the whole thing was going down. Oh no, your slowing down......oh no, your slowing down again.

Wow this thread turned to shit in a hurry. If someone is tailing me bad and won't pass, I'll turn just the one on. No flaching, but it seems to make them back off a bit. I only have it on the driver's side more for saftey than OEMness. Wiring was actually pretty easy, at least on a late model.

Just a little side note, I always thought that small-taillight e30's looked better with the brake lights swapped to the rear fog position and the rear fogs positioned more towards the center of the car. Dunno why it wasn't that way from the factory, but e36's and e32's were that way too.

Putting rear fogs would just irritate tail gaters... just pull over or slow down and no need to fight fire with fire.

Not all are smart enough to realize the worst outcome of tailgating.

I was thinking about some things to help in situations like this where they ARE WRONGLY TAILGATING (not just cause I don't wanna move)...

- push-button switch for the reverse lights
- rear mounted horn
- 007 oil slick (obviously stupid)
- paintball dropping tube in trannsmission tunnel (probably stupid also)

I think the best thing is to just make sure you have plenty of safe braking distance in front of you when someone is on your ass, or just move if it's practical. I really wish there was something else we could do about those who tailgate you when you are already using the left lane to pass at a rather good speed. I dunno. I hate that shit.

Oh, and other manufacturers (Audi, among them) have a single-rear-foglight, but there are indeed TWO foglights in european e30 tail lights, one on each side.
