"Amongst M Division cognoscenti there rages an eternal debate concerning what's the best ever BMW M car. To the casual Bavarian-enthusiast the answer is quite simple: E39 M5."
e39 the best M car? Who the hell did they talk to!Leave a comment:

Thank you, Yan.
I think it's totally wrong to call that an M5. It goes against what an M5 is completely. There never was and never has been since, a 2-door sedan 5-series. The 5-series is a 4-door sedan, period. And there also never was and never has been a convertible. Again, it defeats the purpose of the 5-series.
The M5 is/was a 4-door sedan that could you could use to take the kids to school, commute to the office, and flog the shit out of at the track on Sunday. Turning it into a 2-door convertible totally spits in the face of that.
Not anymore :)

"In fact, there's a whole subculture of folks that feel a car's not really a BMW (let alone an M) without an inline-six. With that said, the E34 M5 is a pretty compelling candidate for best ever M car, as is the M1. "
The above quote makes that article pretty intolerable...Leave a comment:

Looks retarded, but way better than those E class convertibles of that era. If they wanted they should have made an 8 vert, that would be a nice GT car.Leave a comment:
