That Pruven place is down the road from me, I have not heard too many good things about them. As for the E46 wow that is just amazing, abuse or not. The car isnt that powerful and for it to be that bad I would expect it to be a track car w/ 600hp that is beat the snot out of. This is why I will stick to my S52 swapped E30 that has more character, just as quick and will never have those problems.

here in Germany BMM is still taking the the cost of the repairs on all E46s. we do about 1 a month or so- some months a few more. I really can't imagine that BMW NA isnt repairing that stuff over there.
that is really sad what they are doing!!!WTF???

My thoughts exactly. I knew this was the weak link of E46's but holy shit I didn't know it could possibly get that bad.

Also, those are some freakin horrible welds. My god, the first time I welded, I did a better job than that.

So the m3 can't handle the extra power over a regular 3 series but an srt-4 can handle the power over a neon? Nice one BMW...

I heard that some people were working on a class action lawsuit for this very problem.

I also heard that there was some sort of recall and that BMW was fixing cars that were brought in with this problem.

    Just hearsay, though.

Hahaha. But seriously, my desire for an e46 m3 may have just dropped significantly. Did they fix this on for the facelift models?

No one buys them for 60k anymore and the e36 is just as bad. As for the s2000, it has no torque and no back seat. I do recall a lawsuit going on about the subframes on all e46's with BMWNA.
