Just got the message from the Regional Spec e30 director
Hi Everyone,
>>
We have a special invitation (see message below mine) to race with
our BMW PRO3 brethren in the Pacific Northwest at the NASCAR Camping
World Weekend in July 16-18 2010. PRO3 will be a support race for
the NASCAR Camping World event held at Portland International
Raceway. As most of you know PRO3 is very similar to SE30 but with
slightly more modifications and 100 pounds less weight. Lance
Richert who leads the PRO3 group contacted me a few weeks ago to see
if there might be some interest from the West Coast SE30 racers in
participating. Since we do not have a race in July, I thought that
some of you might very well be interested in joining in on a very
unique opportunity. What's nice is that they will be running the
same tires as we do (RA1s). The main changes from our SE30 cars to
be competitive in PRO3 would be: aftermarket chip, weight drop, and
suspension change (coilovers). ABS would have to be disabled.
Here are some details about the PRO3 Class:
Body: 1987-1991 BMW E30 325i, 2-door or 4-door.
Engine: stock M20 6-cylinder except aftermarket chip allowed.
Tire: Toyo RA1
Wheels: 14” or 15” diameter allowed.
Brakes: rotors and calipers stock, aftermarket pads allowed.
ABS: not allowed.
Suspension: Open except remote reservoir shocks not allowed.
Minimum weight with driver: 2,650 pounds.
Minimum ride height: 5 inches to rocker panel.
