im thinking about just doing a m50nv swap and just collecting parts for a turbo build before i put the motor in. still have time to think and weigh everything out -
Hmmmm. I know where 2 transmissions are. Wonder if they are good or not?Leave a comment:

It's not for everyone. It's more work - but totally worth it.Leave a comment:

hmm the more and more i look at the m30 swap the less i wanna do it. i dont like the fact that you cant use a zf or 260 trans and it just seems like more of a hassle for a motor that isnt even 24v. dont get me wrong i know the m30 motor is a god of a motor it just doesnt seem worth it to me.
also i read somewhere that you can take a b34 crank and put it into a b35 and it pretty much makes the stroke longer and making the size of the motor a 3.8L does anybody have info on this? thanksLeave a comment:

The m30 wiring is the easiest out of any engine for a swap. I used a m20 harness and only had to extend a few sensor wires.
Hell if I could figure out the wiring anybody could. If you can wire in a stereo deck it will be a breeze. (if you want to know how bad I am at wiring just ask Luke)Leave a comment:

If you want to pay money for a write up, that's your deal - hopefully it's got some advantage - maybe pretty pictures?
I'm not big on paying for information that should be free. It always rubs me the wrong way. It's a motor swap - not plans to the international space station.Leave a comment:

Frank sells a cd covering this swap as well.Leave a comment:

electrical is very very simple....it's motronic 1.3, most of the time it's plug and play unless you get a very late model b35 then you need an adapter for it's harness (early ones have 20pin and later versions have 25pin c101).i have been debating on swapping a m30 into my e30 and i have been hearing some things. that they have problems with overheating and i think i read somewhere that they dont use alot of the same swap parts as you would with a 24v swap and that the electrical is a pain. i plan on using a m30b35.can anybody help me out with this or give me some suggestions or things to watch out for? thanks for the help
yes, you can't use your m20 tranny like you could with most 24v swaps etc. and same goes with radiator, and engine mounts, and driveshaft. haha.
no overheating problems here either...no clutch fan and electrical fan is OFF at all times other than in stop and go and it stays at / below 1/2 mark.
READ THE M30 SWAP STICKY.... IT"S A MUST READ AND COVERS ALL AREAS OF THE SWAP.Leave a comment:

I've never had a single overheating problem. Ever. You just have to bleed your coolant system well. It can take an hour to do if it's being ill behaved.Leave a comment:

i just put it here cause i figured i would get more of a response on this thread. doesnt joe funk now sell a manual on how to do the swap? or is that somebody else?Leave a comment:

cooling is definitely the biggest issue. make sure you have an electric fan, with a low-temp switch. mine had a pusher type fan, and it cooled nicely, once finally sorted out.
the electrical stuff seemed to not be that big of an ordeal.
if you can track down joe funk, he's got a lot of info on these swaps. mine was done at his old shop.Leave a comment:
