okay, so my heater control valve is being a serious bitch. The original one took a poop on me so I replaced it with a good one... worked for a week and then took a shit on me. found out that the little 2amp online fuse blew so I replaced it. still not working... did a continuity test. no power. took the entire dash out and checked the wires for corrosion, etc... nothing. completely fine. hvac panel and and everything works. my question is.... if I take the HCV out and hardline it to a battery, will the valve open and stay open(granted the valve still work properly)? I am at wits end and sick of trying to figure out where the short is. if this doesn't work, I am going to rewire it to a separate power source and connect a fucking toggle switch. I will not go another winter without heat. just want some opinions.
