Dam. Cracks? Or Serious Destruction? Or Both?
So the head gurdle thing didn't really work or was it due to other issues?
I didn't know you can still order factory heads, I am looking for to pictures of the factory head.

Wow going for 900 on a pritty much stock block, that is very impressive. I supose a sleeved block is always an option then.
3.2bar!!! man that made me laught simply because of the crazy numbers I am reading. I really can't wait to see this thing fly down that strip.
What crank are you using, is it a BMW crank or a custom item?
yeah.. i think the orginal engine block will hold.
not sure why something has cracked now.. but in anyway it isent due to power.. we did 540whp
i think i could have something to do with the crash last year.. im hoping that the engine block is cracked and not the head..
3.2 bars is a lot but not here in sweden :)
the m20 isent known for breathing well so im guessing we are just helping it :)
the rear quarter panels are cut on the sides and underneath and pulled out.. then the gaps are filled with sheet metal. the doors are done the same way..
cut on the back and underneath and filled with sheet metal. i think it ended up beeing around 7-8cm wider on each side.Leave a comment:

First attempt on the m20 WR in power..
540whp on the first pull on 22 psi with poor ignition..
cracked head or engine block.. will repair it and try againLast edited by karel; 07-26-2012, 01:23 AM.Leave a comment:

i will not give up :)
its not sleeved, and its an standard gasket :)
the dyno did some calculations, and if we would hit the 3.2 bars (48psi) as planned it would probably land somewhere above 900whp.
i will investigate it this weekend and see what needs to be done.

bad luck man, good to see that giving up is not an option.
What boost pressure are you estimating for 900whp?
I can't remember but did you guys sleeve the block? I am assuming you did, but thought I would mention it anyways.Leave a comment:

So yesterdays summery.
Went to Tobbe @
WiTune
to get some serious power out of the M20.
We did around 10-15 pulls without no problem what so ever.
Managed to get the low boost and low resistance tuning well..
then we went for the higher boost.. startad at 15psi(1bar) and everything worked well.
the we went for 24psi(1,6bar) we got around 540whp on first or second pull.. after that we went to 27psi(1,8bar) and after that we noticed that the oil was mixed with water.. looked more into it and the water reservoir was empty.. so that was it..
im gonna tear apart the block at the end of this week and see the damage.. Im thinking cracked head or cracked engine block.
the gasket isent an option, if so it should push out the water instead of consuming it and mixing it.
end quote -->
If it would all work out.. we would easily do 900whp+ today.. everything in the engine worked so good, and every boost gain we did it responded well... so getting 900whp out of m20 is still on !! >
im back soon again with some new parts .. and the dyno will be in august again..
Movie of one pull is coming.Leave a comment:
