Holy shit dude, as a fellow rider I feel for you. I hope you make a speedy recovery and get back out there doing what you enjoy. I am usually padded up pretty well when i ride and I wear a high visibility vest, but this just inspired me to get some better riding pants and stop wearing jeans all the time.

Seriously hope things heal up quick! Sorry to hear about your bad luck with completely distracted drivers. It amazes me everyday how many people are looking at their cell phones not the road, I want to scream at them all.

Edit: Also I have had a collapsed lung twice in my 23 year long life. Its fucking terrible. The second time I had a he-man chest tube (without pain meds/anesthesia), worst day of my life. The thought of it still makes me sick and dizzy.

so my doctor assures me theres no artery damage. however i did lose alot of blood and had to get hundreds of internal sutras holding my muscles together mainly the lasceration on the back of my thigh below my ass. accident happend last thursday so it has been a week. i was origanaly at the trauma center at nassau university hospital and in icu for a night there and now im in huntington hospital closer to home. had to take some pics of the injuries for my lawier so i figured you guys might want to see. my lung fucking kills right now cus it collapsed during the accident and feels like its getting worse. and they have me hooked up to some machine 24/7 that pumps the blood through my legs in an attempt to reduce the swelling on my legs. not sure how much longer i have to stay prob till next week sometime.

this thing pretty much massages my legs to prevent clots and to reduce swelling

Bro, real talk. You had a bike it was great. Time to move on. You were not lucky. There is a difference between lucky and blessed. Not a church thang, just a real life thang. Lucky is winning the lottery, blessed is walking away from that crash. There are thousands of bikes. There is only one of you. Make your mom happy. My mom used to do the same thing. Worry. Mine is no longer here. Yours is. That is another blessing. Take my advice. Buy another E30, trick it out, s52, GC coils, kick ass a/c, Luke sound system, 16x9 rims, custom paint, couple hot girls(contact Vlad) and enjoy the rest of your life.....................IJS............G.

I completely understand with the above statement. There is no reason to make your decision now. Get a dirt bike first. Something different but will still give you the rush of two wheels.

put a track bike together maybe and just keep it to that when you can. That way you eliminate the 1 ton fords getting in your way and you will just have your self to worry about fucking up, and not other drivers not paying attention so much.

Just a thought. I know when I got hurt as a kid whether it was crashing a motor powered ride, my bike, or horse. I was back on it as soon as I was able, normally still bleeding profusely (not from a artery though). But thats a choice you have to make if its worth it to you.
