I think the seller meant to price this one at $800.
1991 BMW E30 325ix - $8000 (Upper Chichester)
https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/d/garnet-valley-1991-bmw-e30-325ix/6987159280.html
This car drives and handles great and is a beast in the snow. It has a PA antique license plate and has only been used sporadically for the past 3 year, before that it was our daily driver. It comes with spares for all the 4wd systems and an extra set of ix wheels. I know it has a lot of miles but with the diff and cylinder head rebuilt it has a lot of life left.
Recent work done to this car:
replaced front and rear brake pads and discs @ 190000
replaced front differential with a rebuilt one @ 188000
rebuilt cylinder head (new valve guides, polished seats and valves), timing belt, head gasket etc. @ 188000
rear subframe bushings replaced @ 172000
replaced battery 2 years ago
not so good:
paint could use some love
interior needs cleaning
passenger door hinge is loose
rust spots on both front fenders
rust spot underneath the battery tray
radio antenna is stuck
AC not working, needs to be converted to R134
spares include:
front axles
driveshafts
transfer case and manual transmission
original defective front diff
4 extra ix basket wheels with snow tires

that m6 is indeed a lot of car for 6k. the chances are pretty good that the rough idle is something much more than a tune up. what is the likelihood the owner didn't take it to a shop before putting it up for sale at such a low price?
before my wife and i met, she bought a used 2007 525i with 90k miles. unfortunately, someone did the oil changes at the factory recommended 15k interval. the insides were coked up pretty good and the vanos oil passages were clogged. that car was a nightmare from a maintenance perspective. the only way to fix that problem is to pull the head off.

If I had $6000 to burn I'd consider actually burning that car.

Well at best they're hideous and very expensive to maintain and repair, so it follows that they depreciate terribly. That one is probably the cheapest example in the country though and won't be the cheapest once the repairs and neglected maintenance are done.

2007 BMW M6 automatic - $6000 (Los Angeles)
wow these cars have dropped in value.
check engine light is on and running a little rough, probably needs a major tune up, so sale is as is.

$285,000. It's beautiful, but goddam Sam, that's a steep price for entry.

Sweet Jesus, that E24 could not have done anything deserving of such awful treatment.
