    head on vs a motorcycle

I was driving with a group of 5 or 6 other guys on a local mountain road. I was leading the group because that road is my stomping grounds and nobody else had been there before. Coming up to a slight left hand turn, I see a motorcycle out of the corner of my eye. Thought nothing up it at first, until I realized he was sitting straight up and coming right toward me. I remember thinking in my head "well, this is gonna suck", and then I braced for impact. You can't really see it in the pictures, but the wheel pushed the floorboard under the dead pedal up, wedging the clutch pedal in the released position. If my foot had been slightly cocked to the side, it would have been taken off. I was gripping the steering wheel so hard that when the steering rack moved from the impact, the steering shaft spun inside the hub and stripped the splines. The motorcycle rider got lucky and got away with only a broken leg, a broken wrist, and a bruised ass/ego.

Not pictured is his front forks with throttle body and gas tank attached.

also: lol at Sparkle' having a history of rear ending people.

This was my old 325... some dopey broad, talking on her cell phone turned left right in front of me, on my way to the shop on a Monday morning. Literally no time to react. I swerved to the right, hoping she would see me and abort the turn at the last minute, but no love... we hit corner to corner at about 40mph. It shoved everything over to the passenger side about 16 inches, shoved the motor back into the rack and broke the pan, I broke the windshield out with my head, buckled the roof at the B-pillar and I broke the center console with my knee. I was dazed, but managed to crawl out the passenger side and walk over to her to see if she was okay. She was okay too, but both her Escape and my E30 were total losses. I got $2400 for my 86 E and was okay with that:p

These were taken about 10 minutes before it left my possession, after I had taken the wheels, head unit, battery and exhaust off of it. I used the insurance money to help buy the 540i/6speed I have now... I made out okay;)

Here's the E30 before the accident, when it was almost done...

And my 750iL, before I sold it...

And the 540 when I first bought it... pretty plain Jane...

Compared to how it looks now...

The M3 project will be the best of them, hands down though...

traffic unexpected stopped on the highway. didnt manage to stop in time, hit with a 15mph - 20 mph difference.

And the repair.... AKA, swap cars.

Currently a few years later: Friends flickr wont let me use IMG tags

Grant's bmw hanging out in the garage being pretty like usual

I will say, this was one of the most half-assed rig photos I've ever done. The outcome was surprisingly good though!

Big thing I did was, shadow line, add a late model rear valance and tucked the bumpers

    Managed to rip this:

in half in about three weeks. First accident happened when I was cruising through a parking lot going too fast and having a Suburban pull out in front of me. Insurance found me at fault, which I don't argue with. I ended up ripping off the front fender and buckling the hood pretty bad.

A few weeks later, a Titan cut me off in really rainy freeway traffic, I hit the brakes and the rears locked up, and I spun into a guard rail with the passenger side of the bed before I could even react, ended up nigh on tearing the back half off.

Saddest month of my life and I've been paying $$$ for insurance ever since, but I've only got six months till I get a clean record again [knocking on wood trim]

Going around an exit ramp back end slid out tried to correct but to no avail ended up hitting a tree, frame was bent 13 degrees so total damage a little over $3100 to fix it.
Before you say anything i have grown emotionally attached to the car i will never let this car die.

Back up and running this pic is old since this pic i have installed drop hats so it now sits properly

Back in 2003 i was a dumb kid right out of high school. On my way to work i pulled the perfect r3v and launched my car over a huge rock after losing the back end int he rain (no way!) Rolled it, landed on the wheels after taking out a sapling and busted out the pass window before the car stopped

Anywho, walked away with a busted molar.

Man, we got some sleepy heads in this thread..

Pulled off near the last couple miles of a long road trip with the girl.. was in a rented Pontiac G6 (shitbox) and we decided we were going to get silly in the back seat long story short, got re-clothed and got back on the road.. took my eyes off the road for a split second to check if there were any residual fluids on my lap/shirt.. looked back up and this huge mailbox was in front of me for SOME crazy reason.. nailed the passenger side.. destroyed mirror, broke front headlight cracked the windshield.. shit was destroyed.

Got to my Mom's house (that's where we were headed) and told her I hit a deer.. she was instantly suspicious.

Ended up returning the car without them ever checking if it was damaged.. they signed the papers and we ran out of there.. never heard a word back from them.

he was driving a 69' Cougar Elliminator though, split it to the firewall.

I tore the front off my '86 300zx one night after taking a turn a might bit too fast. Nailed the only mail box on an 8" steel post for miles. If it'd been a wood post, the car woulda survived. Drove away though, but car was totaled.

No pics as they were deleted with my Myspace like 2 years ago....may have some on mah old HD, will look.

My first E30, a 316i which I spun out of a corner at about 50 mph and smashed into a concrete block only 10 days after I bought it

I was actually surprised at how little damage there was. The chassis was bent a bit though, so eventually I decided not to bother repairing it too extensively and sold it as a parts car.
