in that point, where are the benz fans?
:D Who ever wrote the article for the Mopar, A Dodge Polara never came with Ram Air ;) And as far as Neons go. True Mopar people hate them too. And also i had a Numbers matching 72 Dodge Demon 340 Top Banana yellow with original black int! There i think i covered the article :p

Put truly, i see more Mopar guys out at car shows looking at GM's and Fords. Unlike most Ford and GM guys who walk rite past anything else other then what they drive.

And as someone who was raised outside of the BMW world. yes, most people think BMW drivers are pricks and smug assholes. Or just have more money then brains.

what I got from that article:
Most cars suck, so do the people that own them. I am the writer and I have a big flappy vagina.

    the PTcruisers made me laugh.

as for mercedes, love the 190e(actually found a cosworth by my work i've been trying to get the owner to sell to me!), but i know plenty of broke as fucks who buy beat to shit audi's, VW's, e36's, and jags...you know the kind with high high miles and nothing works, BUT they LOOK decent and can fool chicks.

    oops off track.

we see this a lot at the shop, especially with the e34, e39 and the e38s... They buy a m62 car with 180k on it for $1500, and then freak out when they need new suspension, brakes and a head gasket. They end up just buying new Roundels and skipping all the maintenance and safety issues.

When I drive my car I don't feel like I'm an elitist, but I do feel like my car is elite. I feel like its better or least cooler than everything else I see driving.:)

It doesn't matter, people see the badge and stereotypes are formed. There are plenty of people buying old cheap BMW's and Mercs who actually try to play them off as a status symbol.

Wow, what a terribly-written article. I expected to see some very strong stereotypes and some stand-up comedian quality roasting but it seemed like it was written by a pessimistic teenager going off on a rant.

The bottom line is that every car has a following of both types of people: those who know how to enjoy their car hobby without annoying people, and those who dont.

I can only slightly agree with the BMW/elite connection. BMW likely has the largest enthusiast base for "high-end" cars and with the $ come the elitist snobs. If Lexus, Benz, and Acura made cars that enthusiasts wanted to own then naturally the enthusiast base for those makers would be on the rise and BMW's would not stand out. The Infiniti enthusiast base is growing due to the G35/G37 being a popular enthusiast car but I dont think Infiniti owners are looked at as snobs or elitists.

Cars themselves don't talk down to you, drone on about parts catalogues, or generally piss on everything you love. They leave that to their owners. Here are the ten types of car owners that take all the fun out of cars, as chosen by Jalopnik readers.
