yeah I get tired craigslist people too.When you sell something tons people message call but they just bored or wish they could have it.
Believe it or not there are some people who are not as knowledgeable about bmw and cars.I can just see some teen wanting a m3 and getting scammed by a add like this.I know it really is not my job to protect the world just put it out there in case you, your younger brother, girl friend wanted a m3 and thought it is one. :)


I feel you I wasted lots a time looking at car's people say are one thing but are another.I find what one persons opinion is nice is another s piece of crap.

That is screwed up. First off, an e36 M3 body is identical to a regular e36 body as far as the shell. Also, as far as I know, there was no automatic manual then for BMW. So, as far as I can tell, there is a lot of lying there.

Actually the chassis is different on the E36 M3's.

What can you say about people selling on CL. My worst experience was driving 2 hours to look at a MK2 GTI that the ad and the guy told me over the phone had no rust. I told him I would be driving a long way to look at it and he assured me there was no rust. When I got to his house I could see rust holes from 20 feet away. I knocked on his door and he opened it and I gave him a few choice words and he said "well there's not that much rust". I then left cursing some more on the way home.

I guess the only lessons I learned is that some people will say anything to sell something either a straight out lie or in some cases ignorance. If you are going to travel any distance to see something and spend a decent amount of $ you want quality pics of rust prone areas and as much verifiable info about the car as possible. That being said I have traveled a bit to look at a car without too much info though because the price was cheap and I knew I didn't have too much time or it might have been scoffed up by someone ese.

anyone who cares is going to be searching for m3 or m5 or whatever and will know whether they want to buy his car or not. No one is going to get scammed if that's your concern. If the bodies are identical than him putting "m3 body" makes sense to differentiate it to an enthusiast from an authentic m.

they made the 4dr m3 in 1997 and 1998 until now when the did it again .
It is just shady to make it sound like its a m3 in there title .If they said 1992 e36 with m3 mods upgrades its cool.Its just like having a 535 series and saying its a m5 when it is not.
