probably have 30K into it but all the labor was done by me and I have made some really good deals along the way to make the real money out of pocket much less but yeah quite a bit and I couldnt be more happy with a 500whp, s52, early model, euro evrything and Alpina tribute with all real alpina parts.

Meh, With the euro engine under the hood makes up for it.
Not only that, he pays people to do his work. swap, stereo, paint.
Most of us adding it up have built our own cars.

Jesus I can't imagine how some of you spend so much money!?

Actually, how can you spend 40k on an E30? I mean even if you aren't frugal about things?

It's not about doing it right, or doing it wrong, it's about love for your car. If he can afford it, why do you get a say in the way he spends it?

Every time I buy a car, I make an Open Office spreadsheet of my exact plans, research the interwebs for the best prices and knock it off piece by piece.

To date on my 323i I have spent:

    2 Door 323i (Euro) - $1,300

    Suspension
    H&R Race Springs – $500.00
    RSM – Meyle HD - $60.00
    Front Shocks: KYB Excel G - Commodore - $250.00
    Rear Shocks: KYB Excel G - Falcon - $150.00
    Urethane FCAB - $50.00

    Engine Parts
    Ryco Z63 Oil Filter - $20.00
    Ryco Fuel Filter - $20.00
    GMB Water Pump -$83.00
    Spark Plugs – NGK BP5ES - $27.00
    Timing Belt & Tensioner – ContiTech - $50.00
    Thermostat - $50.00

    15x7 et25 meshies - $100
    3.46 6 bolt (small case) LSD - $500
    4.10 6 bolt (small case) open centre (for C&P) - $200
Suzuki GTI recaro seats - $150
Silence Power Steering Delete - $50

Plan to spend another 3-5k doing the brakes, chassis, bushes, sway bars etc.

Zender front valance, Kamei boot spoiler and full respray are on the cards after that.

it forces me to realize my e30 insanity :weak:!!

so far ive got just over 32,000.00 into it not including the cost of the car (5200.00).
next week it goes in for radio = Mcintosh Mx406, amp = mcintosh MC440M or ZUKI 5 channel, speakers ? not sure yet along with a custom sub box.

also getting hood and new OEM fender painted and installed.

so ruffly 41,500-42,000.00 a the end of next week, and if the paint job doesn't hold up (im praying it does) ill be getting it painted again at the end of next summer so you can add another 4500.00 to that.....:(

Shit, after all you guys I don't feel so bad sitting at around $7500.

    $1200 car
$1200 M50 and various gaskets/seals plus exhaust work, minus M20 money
$2500 GCs, sways, suspension arms, E36 rack, bushings, S4.10, brakes
    $1000 TRM C1s and tires
    $600 Luke box/Obcon/amp
    $500 bixenon retrofit
Plus another few hundred for other misc (seats, dash, odo gears, etc).

Not including the various items that are no longer on the car (maintenance etc).

Probably another $50k in blood, sweat, and tears.

Why did I just add this up...

I'm at $10,309 and climbing. This includes the $3,250 price of the car, insurance (one year), registration, a full body restore, lots of mods, the unavoidable s50 swap (have most of the parts) and the 5-lug swap that follows behind (still need the struts and springs). I can provide a detailed line item expense statement for those of you who find it helpful in the grieving process.
