Was hoping he would chime in. But back when we were in hs he was into 300z's. That car was just bad news. We were having a joy ride after he had done something to the car and he must have not bolted the hood on. Found out 300z hoods can fly for a few feet before flipping up into the air.

Lucky you're not dead. Forgot to latch my datsun pickup after futzing around with its weber carbs and took off down a steep hill in Ocean Beach and smashed the crap out of my windshield and caused my buddy to crap his pants.

Even if the air built up under the hood it would stay shut because of the air traveling over the hood.

Weird. I've done about 60mph, maybe a bit more, with my hood unlatched before. Long story but there was zero drama.

that's quite unfortunate... but yeah, install the hood at the junkyard. Problem solved.

i'm confused. the hood on e30's opens backward. how did it get damaged by opening up by going down the highway? were you driving in reverse?

Drive to the junkyard without a hood on your e30, attatch new hood at the junkyard, drive home with new hood already already on the car

    Hood came unlatched on highway

ACTUALLY I forgot to shut it all the way when I was sidetracked by a call from my boss. I just gotta figure out a way to transport the hood from the junkyard to my house from Detroit. Has anyone tried to fit on in a larger car?
Working...
