I've got three down so far, fourth and fifth in progress. It's easy to pass on the addiction, they are such awesome cars.Leave a comment:

I would love to run around that yard for a day... I can certainly understand his secrecy though.
On another note, that trip cost me my wallet with a decent bit of cash in it. :(Leave a comment:

Might have been his son. They work together on buying, fixing, and selling older cars. You know this thing may have switched hands from him before we got it then.
The guy we picked it up from floated the title, he was a younger guy and thought the ECM was bad. It was sitting at a park n' ride where he ended up leaving it because it died.
Sounds like the car had an interesting last few days. It has a brand new FPR on it too, whoever put it on didn't catch the clogged return line. Alternator ended up being fine, just had the dreaded bad ground strap.
He bought it from a guy who was deploying overseas for 2 years. They probably had it all of 3 days so they probably didn't get to do much work on it, if any at all.Leave a comment:

I already posted up about it in the New england section...

EDIT:
Just read through that thread, what an awesome history to this vehicle. I'll have to let the new owner know its roots.Last edited by Exodus_2pt0; 02-18-2012, 11:56 PM.Leave a comment:

I was really hoping for a garden hose running into the filler neckEdit, because I know you will ask.
We decided that breaking the fuel pump would still be more cost effective than a 50 mile tow-truck ride. So we blocked the vacuum port on the FPR, and drove that bitch home pushing as much pressure as the stock pump can put out. Surprisingly it went the whole way without a hiccup, besides the overnight delay.Leave a comment:

Cardinal on Bronzit actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Nice find!
Story sounds like a day in the life of my e30 hahaLeave a comment:

Very odd color combo! But good deal on the car and a story to go along with it!Leave a comment:

Bronzit.
He almost didn't buy it because he wasn't sure if it would make it home.
Luckily I brought a fire extinguisher so I threw it in the back seat and told him if he didn't buy the car for that price I would kick his ass. I was a little concerned with how we ended up rigging the fuel system just to get it home... I really would rather not admit the drastic measures we took.
Edit, because I know you will ask.
