Ah, that one appears to only give Total Loss and Theft. Looking for something that lists accident history as well

I was able to find a very basic vin check here www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck

It doesn't show any specifics though.

Bummer, looks like vsvin finally bit the dust.

    Anyone have any other sources?

I'm down to split a legit account if anyone is interested

I found a great alternative to Carfax. Very cheap and government-sourced. You can get your report for only $4.99 using this link : http://www.vinaudit.com/coupon=FRM_50OFF

I have been using vs vin for a couple months. It works about 80% of the time. Sometimes you gotta wait a day.

here's a link to an e9 site and vin table. it looks as if a typo/misread gave you a 3 to start instead of a 2.

whichever # it turns out to be, you'll have no joy trying to check it. all the systems i've found require the standard 17 character vin which didn't come into use until 1981. the number used on this car may be better referred to as BMW's chassis number.

which e30's still have, stamped on the cowling.
