MK6 to an E30?

If you bought an MK6 Golf new, or even thought about it, then an E30 is probably not the car for you in all honesty.
They are old, rattle and need alot of tinkering to keep em nice. If you like messing with cars, yes E30s are great.

The nice thing about German cars is that they are so well engineered, you can skip back two decades and they drive better then most of the crap out there these days.

Left my mk3s for an e30. While the only con i can find is gas mileage.. but since you got the cheddar to finance a car low 20mpg with a 325 should not be an issue

find the cleanest e30 you can, if your not affraid to get your hands dirty, get an auto and swap to 5spd, as well as replacing all front end suspension parts and rear bushings, then sell mk6, then sit back and ENJOI.....

your main negative is gas mileage...

most things are better about a bmw though.

VWs have that latin american made oem parts channel for some parts too. Couple things are good for vws but 90% of anything is better about bmws.

So count on more gas, more for some parts and more reliable faster and handles better.

I came from a 2004 audi a4 to my 86 325es and I love it. coming from drive-by-wire the more raw mechanical personality of the throttle and transmission make every drive a little more fun even if it is slower lol well that and going to RWD. I had borrowed my friends mkv gti a few weeks ago for a weekend when he borrowed my truck and I ended up driving my e30 after a day

2nd on the nicest you can get. Most E30's that aren't enthusiast owned (and some that are) will need a ton of suspension, and possibly drivetrain, maintenance to get them back up to a respectable standard. That is part of the fun though :)
