No way am I . My friend has a $6,000 snap on box that he signed his life away for. I did have the chance to get 50% off all snap on stuff, but i never took advantage of that. Kicking myself for it now, and looking for cheaper but still good tools .

Gonna go to home creapo and check out what they have.

ya especially if you are going to work in the auto industry, DO NOT drink the snap on kool aid.

They are a rip off based on credit, based on beginning auto mechanics signing off their lives.

That said, the drill is good Im mostly refering to the hand tools. The drill is more a retail store endeavor. I am pretty sure snap on also sells a air version that costs 500$ for auto shops.

as far as makita, I think its just a side effect of how powerful the cordless drill is, but it also sucks out its power FAST, and yes they make their money selling you batteries.
now makita sells construction tools, snap on is mostly targetting auto mechanics. And theres very few construction tools an auto mechanic uses.
and even though these new lion batteries are more powerful per square inch, they are also all smaller too by the exact same percentage. Meaning they dont really last any longer than 5 years ago the nimh ones did just lighter.

lion also lasts twice as long... and costs twice as much.

Im going to be starting next week at a Audi/Volkswagen/BMW/Porsche shop.

Good to know, gonna look into Makita! My friends got a snap on 18V but Ive never much been a fan of Snap-Ons prices .

Anyone who is a tech using these?

Just got a job as a tech and Im wondering which one will take the abuse...and lugs off no problem as well.

Used to sell Bosch and Makita. Bosch is on repair "all" the time, and Makita never.. Only wrong in my years in that shop is that some Makita chargers can be to noisy if placed in feks an office, theres a fan in them.
Milwaukee is also good shit, but feels like crap in hand compared to Makita.
Go out and "feel" the choices before you buy. The balance in the machine has everything to say if you are going to use it a lot, mutch more than weight..

It's pretty overpowered. I like that it came with two batteries too. I think it's rated for 450 lb-ft or something awesome like that. And it's not huge either so it fits almost anywhere.

The only thing I hate about is price.

I have an 18V Snap-On 1/2" cordless impact. Works like a charm.

well I used my dewalt as a satelite tech.

Tech is pretty generic term. my dewalt has been underwater several times lol i abuse it.

Its surface gets ugly quickly. They last forever usually. The batteries suck but I learned to repair them with cells on ebay.

definitely takes off lugs. pretty large compared to the makita line, I am always jealous of those because of that.

Milwaukee,makita,snap on and matco are the only best brand to buy cordless impact.

^^ You ask, but you did not read the review I posted? It states how much torque is claimed and what they got, along with a fit and feel review.

Missed that link. Looks like my next tool purchase is the Makita then.

btw his review shows the best one is bosch, then makita, then dewalt

and the bosch is ridiculously expensive. for msrp Id buy the makita all day sold.

and then a huge drop off to hitachi, ryobi, milwaukee and craftsman like half as powerful.

shows the data right there. so even though the milwaukee looks like the makita, its not the same thing at all.

snap on is not included. but rigid would be the same as ryobi.
