As a form follows function guy, I don't really get it. People can do what they want, but it hurts me to see someone take a performance car and ruin the performance. Verts and cars for cruising, sure, why not.
Also, watching a guy autocross an RSX-S running 8* -camber in the rear made me and everyone else out there just shake our heads. His spring rates and dampening were way off, car was bouncing all over the place (so badly it was hitting the fenders), the car had no turn in, and was understeering horribly.Leave a comment:

Everyone tries to be different until different becomes mainstream. There is a trend that is starting to emerge, and that is the meaty tire, functional ride heigh trend. It will come back.Leave a comment:

LOL! "I didn't buy the ultimate driving machine to drive it, I bought it to stand next to it."
Sorry, but that line just made me laugh. You car is one of my favorites though, so don't take that the wrong way.
There's low, and there's too low. I'm all for everyone doing their own thing. I'm also all for pointing and laughing when some dipshit doesn't understand how to do that thing.Leave a comment:

just wait till I get ahold of my car r3v
As a great mind once said...
"What is your reasoning behind supporting impractically low cars with wheel dimensions that do no favors for the handling of the car vs cars set up to hold the road and handle well?
-It's like a girl in high-heel shoes. Who cares if she can't run a mile. She looking sexy as hell. If she needs to run a mile, she can put on some running shoes when she goes to the gym. "Leave a comment:

I don't really care any way or the other. It's other people's cars.
What I can't understand though is how on earth someone would want to drive a car that looks broken. and 99% of stance cars look broken. Very broken.
I don't get it.Leave a comment:

i think stance is fine when done within reason and on the proper kind of car. nothing gets me angrier than seeing a porsche gt2 completely slammed because it goes against everything it stands for (i saw this at a stanceworks show, true story). on the other hand, if you're into purely looks, whats the big deal if someone slams their lexus gs/ls/other luxury car? it's not like that gets any time on the track, or even a fun backroad.
in the end, to each his own, but leave the porsches alone.Leave a comment:

"Any suspension, no matter how poorly designed, can be made to work reasonably well if you just stop it from moving."
Colin Chapman
This applies well to the E30 with it's simple suspension design and not so hot camber curves. Good alignment/camber settings and stiff springs will work well at various ride heights.Leave a comment:

+1Very well said James. I agree.
And the "haters gonna hate" thing is really getting old.
When we don't allow people do hate on other peoples' cars is when we turn into just another nut-hugging circlejerk forum that says nothing but nice things with no criticism and flaming. One of the things I like the most about r3v is that it's relatively uncensored and people say pretty much exactly what they mean with no filter. One of the best things about the internet is that people are blunt and honest, no sugarcoating. Lets keep it that way.
I got banned from bfc for a bit because this guy posted pics of his gf and car together and everyone is like "wow smoking hot chick, nice car too" and i said "eh, i give her a 7". got banned for a week. i shouldve gone back and said "take that back... shes a 5" after lolLeave a comment:

I agree that mike bouroughs had a huge part in making it go mainstream. I love the stance scene and its not just about slamming a car. It took so much though and knowledge to make my car look and ride the way it does. I will never ever own ground controls. My bc coils have full shock travel, proper dampening, and spring rates. Its stiff but rides like a dream. Wheels both grip but look amazing as well. I found the perfect line between style and comfort. I have never hit my oilpan and it will never hit once i do my s52 swap with shortened pan. TTheres art to this madness, some have it while others dont.Leave a comment:

I believe my e30 is "stance'd" but it still out handles anything I have come across. It is about building the correct wheels to fit the arches. I am tucking tire front and rear...yet I don't rub. Handles better than a 911 and looks fucking awesome. If done right, a stance'd car can handle and look great.Leave a comment:
