I understand money can be an issue, but I've always been a strong believer in the saying "Do it once, do it right." Even if it means saving up.

The exhaust hanger on my old 318i broke on the way back to school one year so I rehung it with an old steel helmet cage and waxed hockey lace, what I had in my trunk hehe, it was eventually fixed
nothing compared to the wooden mounting rails i found under the rear bumper of my e21 320/6....surprise surprise

Ziptied my Volvo lip, cutting a corner right there with the lip. Anyways used the normal retaining clips and zipties until one retaining clip broke. Super Glued that beast to the lower valence.

The only thing I have ever hackjobbed on my E30 is my tires. Sometimes I just rock shitty ones. Like I am now.
This MIGHT count. I'm not doing anything about the body rust. Ultra rare parts abound in that car. Body rusting away.

The above post is a total joke.
My biggest hackjob is the use of zip ties to hold arbitrary items together.
Though all of that is getting fixed this winter while it is all apart.

I once had to drive cross country in my E30 asap, and as I was putting it back together I realized that I only had two flywheel bolts (previously used) at my disposal. I couldnt even find the torque spec so I just got em gutentight and said fuck it. Drove the whole multi-thousand mile trip without issue.
It didnt give me any problems, so I still have it like that, to this day. I have had the time to fix it but I figured the fewer bolts lent some weight savings to the flywheel setup.
BAWS status bitches
