The sad thing about "cutting corners" is that after a few cycles of it, the cost (or even the possibility) of putting the car back into good condition turns the car into part-out or crusher fodder.Leave a comment:

I do have an M3. and i dont have all that much money, just every other paycheck for the past 6 years has gone into my cars.
people always bitch about the PO. and cutting corners is why.
If you cannot afford to do it right the first time. Save and do it right when you have the funds

you gotta admit theres a difference in the severity of cut corners. i've zip tied a few things that nobody will ever notice, no biggie right? my PO tried welding back the motor mount ear on the subframe. i got into a car accident because of it and almost got my head taken out by a pole in my vert. sometimes its rounding a corner and sometimes it's being stupid and unsafe. i think most guys on here are the zip tie kind of corner cutters, not anything stupid like i mentioned.I do have an M3. and i dont have all that much money, just every other paycheck for the past 6 years has gone into my cars.

I mean the unibody itself. by rails i mean the part where the subframe bolts into the car. after hitting a curb in an accident i'm sure i tweaked the body a bit hence the bolts not going in flush. they would start but then just get stuck. and i just used my old subframe bolts. Thanks man, good to know I'm not the only one haha.
When you say your frame rails are a little bent, what do you mean? The beam, ie, the subframe itself? The shell of the car? My car has been in a few minor accidents, but I don't think anything is bent, especially that far forward from the rear. Did you install poly bushings, or OE replacements? Mine are poly bushings from IE. Thing is, it didn't seem like they were too big around. Seemed more like they were all the way in, and just couldn't go in any farther. And they didn't budge, even after torquing the subframe bolt to 100ftlbs. I have no idea on this one...Leave a comment:

I kept my front lip on with zipties. You couldnt see them, but all of the brackets had broken so i just used zipties and it worked until it got ripped off and ran over and shattered...now i want the actual clips for the front to hold it on but can't find anyLeave a comment:
