What's your opinion on stance?

Comparing hipster stance cars to purpose-built E30 M3 race cars is a reach whether they're cornering or not. -
lol that M3 is still cornering. Look at this front wheel turn, rear wheel lift, and shadows!Leave a comment:

yeah, notice in both pics the car is cornering and appears at least an inch lower over the rims that it is standing still. Those are track cars, not so much for daily potholes and speed bumps. Even so, most 'stanced' cars are much lower than this deceptive example. Here is the car on a straight

So I can basically come to the conclusion that too much lowering is horrible, but with the right suspension setup it helps with both looks and performance?Leave a comment:

Lowering a car intelligently for specific performance purposes is great and has a threshold. Lowering a car to be accepted by a culture is lame, and typically ruins the car because there is no threshold.Leave a comment:

In the past year and a half I have built a bagged 24v vert. It is "stanced". It looks good as hell aired out and it rides pretty damn well at a good ride height. However, I know what my car is and I know what its not. I will never track it, race it ecr . Its a cruiser, it gets tons of looks and thats what its built for.
Knowing that it will never be a racer and never should be, im building a coupe, decent ride height, meat on the tires, roll bar, more power. Streetable track build. 2 cars, 2 different purposes.
I dont understand people who go rediculously low static to the point that its not driveable. When its no longer fun to drive it is stupid.

I personally love all flavors of cars. I personaly like having a lowered/almost slammed car. Its my way of putting my touch on my car without breaking the bank and running into performance issues/ or big budget turbo build that i cannot afford because of college. on the other hand i am building an e21 for street/track terror with e28 rear beam and 3.1l m20. so i love both sides of the game. I have just found that i am not a fan of all the stance kids, But all the lowered bmw guys have been cool that i have met.Leave a comment:

I'm all for going low if drivability doesn't take a hit. Once you get to the point you can't get anywhere, where's the value in that?Leave a comment:

I really like my ''stanced'' E30. Good handling, good looking. The only negative side is the ground clearance with the 24v.

Wow, haven't been on here in forever. I'm surprised this thread went anywhere lol.Leave a comment:

Stance looks great but ride quality, comfort and handling take such a hit (even if you have a proper, shortened coilover setup).Leave a comment:

Subtle? r3v is suttle. When the stereotyping and name calling stops, I'm leaving.Leave a comment:
