I figured. Like I said, I don't really know much about body work haha
Gonna do a nice cleaning of the seats and cards while they're out :D
Not really interested in leather so anybody with some cloth seats wanna trade??? They're in pretty good condition, too!
How Bad is this Rust?

That's just surface rust, get a knotted wheel on your grinder and knock it off, they cover it up with some paint.Leave a comment:

Any idea on my damage, I've sprayed it with rust inhibitor, should I sand it down and just paint as is or go all out, not worried about looks, just need to connect up license plate lights

I agree with this. You can see the rear trailing arms in the picture. Price wise I also agree with but depending on the quality of work this price can go way up.Leave a comment:

The point was that there are more resourceful ways to deal with rust than to just go a body shop with your checkbook. Depends on the car, your goals & your budget.Leave a comment:

I dealt with the same thing a while ago. It is a tough area to work in and helps if you remove the trunk liner. I ground away everything I could, coated with rust converter and then built everything back up with fiberglass cloth, resin and chopped glass. Once it is cured you have to do some cutting and grinding to re-create the opening for the plate light assemblies and fasteners.Leave a comment:

All this front fender talk seems irrelivant. The rust is on the rear quarter panel .
I'd say like $4-5 Hundo to get that patched up nice nice.Leave a comment:

The extent of rust damage and the range of solutions are rarely obvious. Note the RF 1/4 panel..same spot as the OP

This is what was underneath it

The repair

and the end result

Not the best shot of the fix but it is as new.
The replacement fender was not just the same color, but was the same month and year of production. Total Cost: Fender $40; POR & fibreglass $25Leave a comment:

This too. I'll never buy another E30 without lifting the carpet.to get a good idea of what you are looking at rust wise, you really need to take the seats out of the car, lift up the carpet and take a good look at the floor pans. i bet you are in for plenty of surprises other than just that one spot.Leave a comment:
