I havent even looked under the hood yet I'm not looking forward to it.

lol I still cant believe how much I slid. I was giving the merc ample room he just stopped fast as hell. Gotta love, in my case hate, 4 pot calipers (I assume their 4 pot)
The tires that cost about as much as an E30 did more work to stop it than the brakes. However, shit happens in the rain, especially on freeways. Sorry to see your E30 end up like this.

Dude thank goodness your ok. I think your E30's crumple zone really helped out on this one.

Lick your wounds and find another clean vert if that is where your heart is.

is sad that the little plastic piece that got bent on the amg will prob cost more than your whole car.

yea argue for the condition of the car, classic, etc. took a month, but they gave me 5k for my total, 4k to keep after an initial 2k lowball. if the difference is small, id keep and part out/save for spares.

112k miles. The edge had some serious damage, i had a crushed shock mount, slightly dented hood, fender, cracked headlight, and a slightly dented bumper. To parts and paint match I was quoted at $2400ish. The other person had alstate(their fault) they had the book value at $2100ish...so i ended up taking the most they'd give me without totaling the car(80%)

I argued with this guy for a while, he's like look, we can total it and give you this...or not total it and give you this...

Glad you're okay, and sorry you can't make the Art Museum meet...I'll try to get another one together soon.

Whether the car died or not, that e30 did save your life.

But seriously; that sucks man. If my iS even got totaled, I'd have more than a few words. There was a huge torrential rain here at night the other day, and I pulled over for 20 minutes on the side of the road just to wait it out because I didn't want some idiot prick driver doing the exact thing that happened to you

I'm sorry this happened...DO get yourself checked out at a docs, you're likely going to be stiff as hell tomorrow, and the following days.
Oftentimes the results of this accident will creep up on you later on.

REALLY sucks about your little E30 vert...it's painful to see it, as your vert is almost identical to mine...

    don't think that's salvageable.

part her out, start fresh, and stay away from E36's.

Def not salvageable and I'll try and keep away from e36s they are so cheap now tho...

    Thanks for the condolences.

Possibly some good news if they do use NADA and I do get the total loss money from the insurance company of the guy who hit me I'll be getting more than the car is worth. They have it listed as $4,275 low retail. Which I find hard to believe I figured it would be a lot lower.

Should not need one, the insurance Co. is going to call it totaled. Is where the problem is going to end up being,..as in not wanting to give you what you have in the car.
We road, hard to place blame on you being meat in the sandwich spot.

good point. I'll have to look into it.

...however, the YouTube thread in OT is full of cheerful, uplifting videos to get your mind off of this. There's also weed I guess.
Yea I know there people in worse situations then me but shit this just sucks. As far as "neck injuries" go the cop reported no injuries on the scene so I think I should be good but you never know.
