Thanks a bunch, very sweet but I am sure your Mom has strengths I lack . . . we all try to do our best where we are with what we have. My boys dad died long ago so . . . I am glad I am a woman who is able to introduce/share and enjoy things males tend to enjoy. You can come next season, Barker's Farm has more than one event!Leave a comment:

Thanks for being a kickass parent! (Not my mom) Keep up the good work, looks like a blast!
Ninja- Looks like my brother was there! I should have tagged along...Leave a comment:

I would say do it; not expensive and if your DD is solid you won't have issues. It's all about vehicle control.

He IS a lucky boy and I think he got some of his driving instincts from his mom;)Leave a comment:

My kid knew your pic was a Lotus. My brother had a Spitfire back in the day but he knew nothing about cars.My Dad and I run a vintage race shop. We take care of about 15 cars. I only drive a couple times a year, basically as a test driver in our 1965 Lotus Cortina.
I completely understand how your son feels. When I was 14 or 15 I bought a 1980 Triumph Spitfire and completely rebuilt it over the next few years. Working that much on something really helps you respect it. Luckily for him, an E30 is a lot easier to work on than a Spitfire!
YES, working on them creates a deep . . . weird . . . bond with the car. Lets just say my kid is definitely a fanatic, in every aspect. Cars are his drug of choice! No complaints from this Mom;)Leave a comment:

My boy will be 19 in a week and he is full throttle on his love of vintage. The best thing I ever did, well one of the best things I ever did, was get him the E30. He is crazy in love with it and all old cars.
I am really happy he is learning his way around an engine and all parts that move; I think it is what will enable him to pursue the love and afford it.
