The problem with nearly ALL of the cars in this class is that they have become way too soft. Lamborghini is the next nameplate in this class that will not even offer a real manual transmission...the 2013 Gallardo was the last holdout. There needs to be a stripped down R8 with RWD only and the twin-turbo V6. The R8 V10 that I drove was quick enough, but too much a poser's car. No wonder so many of them are winding up at Underground Racing for twin-turbo installs.

I've driven a V8 R8. I loved shifting it and the motor sounded amazing, i thought it was easy to drive. The v8 isnt all that fast though for what it costs. An M3 v8 or 5.0 Mustang Gt is probably just as fast in a straight line. The car was a daily driver (not mine) and was always in the shop for something: Hood latch, binding when turning at full lock, brakes warping, squeakes/rattles.

I autoxed an lp560. Hell of a car. Real easy to drive, and you could really feel the big motor in the back trail braking from 80 or so, even with the nannies on. Thing would rotate very easily on braking. Oh yeah, and the power and brakes and stuff.

Yeah I don't blame you, I didn't have a whole lotta respect for the brand before I started delivering A6's, A7's, and A8's on the daily at Walters Audi in Riverside. A3-A5 are just garbage IMO. The only reason why they even sell them is for people just say they own an audi.

I know that was the problem, I loved driving it but it just didn't feel like I was even close to what the car could handle even going 100 down the street (not in the video) I go 100 in my e30 and I'm having a great time with the biggest smile on my face, only on a closed course tho.. ;)

I'd personally much rather drive something that tries to kill me at every corner. :D

And it looks fooking amazing (teh Cobra). Just sex on wheels.

There was a twin turbo 350z on the track that day, it passed us a few times...that probably didn't help the perception.

Driven a Gallardo with a 6spd. Sort of close?

I feel like a V8 R8 is an attainable "dream car" in the next 10 years for me.
