There is a local guy here who has been doing just that for years, no issues AFAIK

    edit: but it's totally illegal

LOL I haven't had a US plate installed on the rear of my car since Bfest...

I've rocked europlates with the CA tag behind the 3rd brake light for quite a while now...

do it every so often for the lolz.

I have an original CA 1990 issued plate on my car but I have no front. If anyone knows where I can have a decent copy made to run on the front (I'm aware of the ramifications) please PM me. CA requires a front plate and will not issue just one replacement.

FYI, you don't need "to know a guy" to get a euro plate. Europeanplates.com makes and sells them.

started a topic "Aftermarket" State-Issued License Plate

    "Aftermarket" State-Issued License Plate

    Okay guys

So we might be dipping into grey areas here, but maybe people who have been around the block in this situation might know something about it

So I know a guy. This guy has a Euro License Plate Printer. Don't ask me how I know him or how he got the machine because: I've known him for a while and I don't know how he acquired it.

    Anyway,

Say for example.. I decide I want a "Euro-Style" license plate (wide) vs the US style license plate (ugly).. Can I legally run a license plate that has the same numbers as my state-issued license plates, including the same "(insert-state-name-here) banner" and the month/year registration tags?

Anyone even heard of such a thing?
Working...
