    EVERY SINGLY TIME I go to buy something on ebay or craigslist and it says "Everything works perfectly, but sound is untested" that's code for "oh I totally tested the sound and it doesn't work." So since he isn't specifically saying it's a certain engine, that means it's the lowest of the low hanging fruit. Or he really doesn't know, but that's highly unlikely.

    Ask for him to disassemble it and measure the bore and stroke. Only REAL way to be sure.

    Definitely a M50/S50. Tranny could be a ZF or Getrag, pictures are too cruddy. Tell him to send you better pics!

    Early M50 and S50 both had cast iron manifolds. Switch to stainless came with ODB2 in 96.

    That's not a euro s50, no ITB's. It is either an M50 or US S50. OBD1 intake.
