Hi,
I have a 1974 2002 which I plan to Megasquirt. For a cam position sensor, one option I'm considering is to use an e30 M10 distributor. A couple of questions for the experts (I realize I'll have to swap out the drive gear):
The idea is to remove three of the four trigger tabs on the pulse wheel, resulting in one pulse per camshaft revolution. Can the distributor be disassembled to that level without damage?
Why does the distributor have a vacuum advance diaphragm? Isn't the e30's ignition timing handled by the ECU (like the M20)?
Thanks for the help!
