He's got a Merc for sale on eBay right now. Judging from his user account history, he's on to Benz and Motorcycles.

Someone selling a car on behalf of someone else is always a huge red flag as it reduces the liability. Sadly enough, when buying a car, you cant take things at face value.

Seller took various pictures and did his diligence.

The car is simply branded from the toxic reputation of a builder who was thrown out of the e30 community. We'll see how well this sells.
This is car has the same issue as the Alpina B3 wagon from Canada that is registered in Oregon without proper title and paperwork allowing it in the country and for the amount of money being asked then I would want all the i's dotted and t's crossed with no grammatical errors.

Around here, you could have someone put a lein on the original VIN, then remove the incorrect VIN from the replacement dashboard, have a replacement VIN tag stamped/engraved for the front radiator core support, then go have it inspected and then you'll have the correct title for the car. It's a whole lot of paperwork, but a minor inconvenience to get at least one thing right on the car.
I also thought about this and wondered about the importation status. The title is probably still Canadian, so you would have to go through the import loops as well I imagine. Also wonder if it would be impounded since it would then have proof it was in the US illegally before they could be imported.

Who's the attorney in our bunch? lol.

If you are honest with them, they are fairly reasonable.

My buddy just had a similar issue with an 850csi he bought here but didn't realize it was never properly imported to the US from Canada. He drove the car up to the border and they did a VIN inspection, filled out the paperwork, and after some fairly tense conversation - got it released. All in the same day. But for a few moments, there was thoughts it was going to get crushed..

Thanks buddy. Hoping she gets what she deserves.

I've seen similar M42 cars with much less maintenance go for 8k+.

                  Yes, good luck.

It is nice to see these bringing good money on BaT... but does the transaction always go through? Just curious, as there were definitely NOT that many seriously interested parties (even at the $5000 sale price) when I sold my 318is. It's body was not nearly as nice as yours (though a solid 15 footer, no wrecked fenders or anything) but the interior and mechanicals were minty fresh.

I can't believe the 318is ended at 4,800. Maybe it was just a weird week where no one on BAT wanted an E30?
