Super surprised that LS swap didn’t hit 20k. Looked to be a really clean car with a nicely done swap.

The owner bought it a year ago, but it's still not registered in California.
Does it mean that the car can't pass inspection?

This “357is” is now offered in California with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean South Dakota title in the seller’s name.

LS Swap will pretty much never be a legal swap in an E30 in California

I felt so bad for the seller being ripped to shreds in the facebook group. He was honest and open with the build, and respectful in the comments.
$70k is not that much money when you're paying a shop to do everything, but the chorus of people that don't make that much in a year can't be silenced.

Audibly chuckled at the eBay taillights when I was browsing the photos, though.

Car is s54 swapped, not s52

Paying a shop to build a car is money in labor that can never be recollected unless its Top Shelf work and even then, fractions of what is spent is returned. Basically if you're paying a shop to do the work, you need to get your moneys worth by driving, not by reselling. He may get over $20k again, but not much more.

Why would you pay $70k for modifications and sell it immediately?
                          Is the final product undrivable?

I can empathize with wanting to finish a project even when you've blown up the budget you originally planned... but $70k is just wild.

The same reason you would sell it because your wife doesn't like the ride stiffness and you need 4 doors for your kids. More money than sense.

Must have had an abusive relationship with the shop that he just kept feeding it money like that.
