    I'd assume this will sell well below a tidy M3 would sell for, repaint in the stock colour and refinish the wheels and its not a bad example really.

    Seller indicated in the comments that the vert has a timing belt that has only 250 miles on it currently. It did not sell at high bid of 8,800.

    I talked to the guy that owns it. He purchased it from another person that had the car painted pearl white. To strip that paint and repaint it the original color is close to 8k.

    I was tempted to bid on it, but the possible hidden rust did scare me. Not as much as how scared I would have been to tell my better half though.

    That '84 323i is very tempting until you look at the underbody photos. That thing has rust for days that was covered up by undercoat. I wouldn't buy that thing without a serious rust PPI.
