I looked at it like this: This is not one of those,"oh crap I screwed up my car, or ran from the cops and slammed in to a curb" type deals needing a bail out. It's one of those life changing, "what tha hell do we do now?" type moments that maybe only happens to a single person in your circle of friends.
An honest, real Emergency.
That's why I donated what I did. I would hope this kind of thing doesn't ever happen to anyone else in my lifetime, and I would even be willing to donate more if necessary, but I'll wait to see what his plans are for the next place. Hell, my next donation may just be me showing up with a toolbelt and a hammer.
Curious the brand - I thought there had been some recent recalls about this on a few. I'm sure the Insurance company will look in to it, but might not be bad to see if there are other similar reports for the model..Leave a comment:

In the same regard is there a direct paypal to send $ directly in to avoid the gofundme fees? At this rate it'd be several hundred extra being put in.Leave a comment:

Like Lance said - they lost everything.
Just day to day stuff like clothes and what not. It's pretty hard to imagine being in that same situation.
There's a lot of this community that he helped create, by and through this website. I don't think he's ever asked for anything from this site's users, but I think this is one of those times where the members are helping to give back.
