I've got my own 1 car garage with grease pit at home, and I rented old butcher shop maintenance facilities with 3 of my friends.
My own garage doesn't have heating, so during winters(they are usually very cold round here) it's useles.
Once I get my finances balanced(unemployed right now) I'll start building new garage to my home, should take 2 cars, have heating, and be high enough so I can install lift.
Where do you work on your car(s)?

I rent a garage that realistically holds 3 cars, but has the sq footage of a typical 6 car garage, with ~20 foot ceiling, and it has a basement. I'll post some pics when I'm fnished with a huge shelving project in 2-3 weeks. I'm parting out e30's so me and a buddy I split the garage with are building HUGE shelves to store the parts.
Luckily my Dad got me in the habit of buying and taking care of my tools at a young age so by the time I was old enough to drive I had all the tools I needed, and now have about 2-3 of EVERYTHING. He was a motorhead and knew I would be too.
And I have a 2 car garage at my house.
I'm moving in 3 weeks, but the new house has an even bigger 2 car garage.
But my reiger lip doesn't agree with the sloped sidewalk to pull in. :roll:Leave a comment:

Rennsport,
How much clearance do you have on the sides of your lift posts?
I have found a low rise two post lift that will fit in my garage based on height, but I am trying to determine if it will fit and not impinge too much on my boss', er wife's side of the garage.Leave a comment:

I work in my garage, usually have my wife park in the driveway if it's going to be an extended job. Try not to do that too much. Will post pics later tonight.
I'm getting some good ideas from your garages.Leave a comment:

My dad just got a job offer in SC. He was looking at land around some known lake, don't know the name off hand, but a piece (not big) was around $900,000. Thats for maybe 3-4 acres. He was looking at how he could live there the cheapest and he figured out that to move our current house was $200,000 to SC found out this was the cheapest way to go. So for a 3-4 acres of land on the lake with a 5000 sq ft. ranch house moved from Ohio is a lot. I think many parts of SC are very expensive. Why not just keep the job in Michigan is the question.Leave a comment:

Only pics i have. Its shitty but it has nice lights and i am slowly making it more organized. I am starting by throwing away most of the crap inside and making half assed shelves throughout. It doesn’t help the organization of it when i have pulled four motors and gone through four cars in under a year. There are parts EVERYWHERE and now with a parts car it’s even worse. I am lucky to have so much space for the area i live in though and I can park two cars in the barn and a few outside. There is a lower two car section to it that is starting to get cleaned out, i will probably park my red car there when its done. And no i dont live in it although during vacations i pretty much do. I would love to rebuild this place and put in a nice loft but that wont happen.Leave a comment:
