We do all our car stuff in the middle bay. We store in the 3 car out back when its winter -
That's awesome, all you guys that have access to shops with lifts are lucky fellows, indeed. My father in law was a mechanic for about 20+ years, and along with that, has pretty much every tool imaginable, automotive and non, so working on cars over at Andrew's house is nice. He's got pretty much everything but a lift.Leave a comment:

i work on my car at work. all the compressed air i would ever need, my tools+my boss' tools, 4 drive on lifts, 4 saddle style lifts, and lots-o-beer in the fridge:D
the only thing i love more than my e30 is my set of tools!

I go to a friends place, or my folks house. I've even just done some work like changing the oil and such at my appartment. If they ask what I'm doing I say I had a flat tire. Nobody seems to mind then.Leave a comment:

i had pictures of when my last project was in full gear but the car was centered in all the pictures so none of them gave the garage justice to show how i had it set up.
the home PO painted the floor with acrillic which for a garage is a no-no. Quickcrete epoxy all the way this time!! Except i'm having to scrape up all the old paint which had turned out to be a complete bitch!
i'll share again when its done and theres a bimmer in there too.Leave a comment:

Here are a few pics of the garage I built last year
18' x 24'
10' ceilings
toilet with stainless sink
compressed air in the walls with a compressor in the attic
I wish it was bigger, but it does the job pretty nicely. It's warm, has lots of light, and tons of outlets.
It's a mess right now because I'm in the middle of a twincam swap AND a 5 lug swap. And I don't have enough time to work on it. And I'm going to be a father in 7 weeks. This might be the only place that is quiet for the rest of my life....
work bench, storage, lots of parts, and bikes

hey look! it's an e30!

my old timey millermatic and my s52

hooray compressed air!

not even a broken arm can stop me from working on my car
hehe, i win.
lift, 120 gal air compressor, all the tools i could ever dream of (including specialty bmw tools) and a mechanic with 35+ years of experience
all in the garage at home.Leave a comment:

I'm interested what you do for flooring in your garage. When I get a garage and money, I'd like to go with this. It looks nice and would be good for wrenching on or under the car.Leave a comment:

The first picture is how the garage used to look. The 4 women in my family overtook the garage for storage, so we built a carport along side the garage. My father and I just cleaned out the garage and we can now fit cars in all 4 places. :)Leave a comment:

The man makes a good point. I'm actually really starting to get a pretty decent collection of tools going. I need to buy a new toolbox soon, in fact. I've got one of the 4-drawer Craftsman boxes, and it's bursting at the seams.Leave a comment:

Ive decided that having a full set of tools is much more important than a comfortable work space. I cant stand it being in the middle of a job then needing to run to the store to buy a tool I need.Either in my dorm parking lot at school or in the garage at home. I tried to organize all the tools in my dad's toolbox, and they WERE!
Came home for christmas...NOPE, not anymore. So I'm like, fuck it. I'm starting to collect all my own tools, and I'll eventually get more when i get my own place. ;)
Soon enough, I will have my own garage.Leave a comment:

on my side of the garage normaly, but sometimes I have to work on the parking slab in front of the house if all the space in the garage is being used. Like right now my IS is still awaiting the paint booth so it's on 1 side all primed out with no glass in it. On the other side sits the 4 wheeler (w/ snow plow) and lawn mower with nearly an entire IX in parts surrounding every thing. The IX sits on the slab in front an now that winter my have finaly set in here its gonna be nippy to finish it out.
maybe pics laterLeave a comment:
