These are called stereotypes scott.

I took a multicultrual psych class in college which discouraged profiling someone based on stereotypes, but I think to myself, they ARE stereotypes for a reason.

Ok.. to purposely sound racist, I will put this out there-

If the car has 22+ inch wheels and Armor All sprayed over the ENTIRE car, you can be assured that a black person owns it. If you see a pickup truck with confederate flag and a gun rack, a white guy owns it. If you see a mexican flag hanging from the rear view mirror, chances are that a landscaper or cleaning lady owns the car. And if you see a car with a soccer ball magnet on the back of it or a "Baby On Board" sign chances are that it belongs to some white woman with bratty kids who get away with disrespecting their parents.

It would probably be a better way to preface something to say "I realize that this will sound racist, and since I'm not I realize this in advance of flapping my lips"

And I nearly bet the stereotype would hold up in this case - and if you were honest with yourself you would too.
