And the 3rd gen f-body prices are up. I haven't seen to many nice ones or decent ones for what the OP is wanting to spend $2500. But The LT1 4th gens are at a good price range now but still out of reach of $2500. I have a 96 Firebird Formula that i did DD and it never let me down exept with the opti spark that was original at 128k miles. And it will get 28mpg on the open road, and i got abunch of bolt ones on it.Leave a comment:

Way back when i was shopping for my fox body I looked at quite a few camaros and ended up coming to the decision the the mustang handles better, looks better and they all seemed to generally be in better shape, they also seemed easier to find with a 5spd. IMO the driving position in camaros sucks, I can never see anything from the drivers seat.Get a camaro instead of the 'stang. Either way the cars will suck gas, but the camaro handles better, looks better, and is a little bit higher quality (not that that is saying much). I personally love 944's, but they are a pain to keep running. I'd go with a Subie as a daily, because of the AWD, a plethora of manual trannies, and decent looks. 1999-ish 2.5rs FTW ;)Leave a comment:

why not an old civic? great mileage, light and tossable, cheap as hell, can easily be as reliable as the sky is blue.Leave a comment:

I think the foxbody would just be an awesome DD that you can rag and not give a damn about. cut donuts everywhere and act a foolLeave a comment:

For a DD you should be looking at something from Honda, Toyota, Mazda, or Subaru. Anything from those manufacturers would beat the cars you have listed as a DD, IMO.
Of the two you listed, the Mustang is a no-brainer. Parts are cheap and anyone can work on them.Leave a comment:
