i think its putting down about 260HP@9PSI at the wheels... but its still a work in progress and hasnt been fully tuned yet was having some trouble with boost recirculation and fueling that i think have just been recently worked out... should be going to the dyno again soon for some tuning... and may be up for sale in about a month

and yeah the tach is ricey but his dash tach is screwed up... so at least he has SOME excuse.. still a bad place and too damn big

I'm not quite sure how much performance your friend is under the illusion he's got, but I can PROBABLY assume it's not much.

It's not hard to fix a tach, he could have done it for a lot less than he paid for the rice tach.

first of all his cluster tach doesnt work... which i have already stated in my original post... and he doesnt want to replace the cluster because the mileage is right and the car will be going up for sale soon and doesnt want to have to deal with any problems associated with off mileage ... im pretty sure he already had that monster tach from an older car and he just reused it... i agree that it is a particularly ricey one and that the location sucks... but it serves a purpose...

second of all... there are PLENTY of KA-T cars out there... some making 400+ hp and this one has been dynoed at over 260 already with it not running right... that since has been fixed... and it will be seeing a dyno again soon to further tune it...

Exhaust is a Apex'i N1... show me a better readily available exhaust for a turbo 240sx... its not like there are alot of non-fart options out there... unless he wanted to go custom.. its not even that loud with the turbo in there...

i have no excuse for the neon...

besides the tach and the neon... what exactly is rice about iit... there is no wings no body kit even the factory wing has been removed and trunk filled... it has no big stereo (not even a whole stock stereo)... no blue or yellow hoses... no chromed out engine.. ok the rims are kinda ugly but since he needed bigger wheels to clear the 300zx brakes... and those were about 250 for all 4 i cant hold that against him either...

my only real complaint about it is that the turbo is top mount and it get the hood too hot and its close to the brake master.. other than that.... i respect his effort and think that the car is pretty rice free

I just have to call rice on neons and monster tachs. I hate that crap. And I was having fun making those captions, I'm sooo bored.

I have a friend that has a 510 with a turbo KA in it, it's awesome.

It's all good, no hard feelings. Tell your friend he's got a car with some great potential, just get rid of the rice crap. :up:

Don't hate on 'em, Josh... it's a fairly well prepped 240 for what it is. Apex'i is some nice-ass stuff; the KA can actually be just as potent as an SR20 from what I hear, with the right tuning, and everything else seems to be what was cost-effective at the time.

With that said... 240SXs r0x my s0x.

just dont wanna see his car bashed... he has done it all himself in his driveway and put alot of work in there to make it right so i think he deserves some respect for that... but

yeah that tach has got to go... maybe a smaller one on top of the steering column...

i think the neon is a left over from when the car was a slammed big stereo beater from highschool days... i know its not a recent thing... i think i actually had it in my corrado when i first got it and gave it to him that was like 1997-98 tho

ive always been a fan of 240's



i dont know...there is just something about cars that have a huge boost base that is exciting.

tons of parts floating around, tons of magazines catering to the owner's every whim.


i can see how it is easy to get sucked into that crowd.

i was just using the kit lens there but i have others...
