If it was, he took 4 others with him. And they said there were skidmarks, so I am guessing not.

It is at a "neighborhood" that is built around a private airstrip. And not just for small planes. Its big enough for a 747. John Travolta has a house there and keeps his personal Boeing 727 there.

I would guess more likely it was rich little pricks, fueled by some substance or other who could not resist the chance to go flat out on the open tarmac.
