Right on!
As far as Cali being the center of the universe and the envy of 49 states... nah
I just moved back to Hawaii from Cali, and am glad to be off the mainland. Cali has every down of living out here (expensive, traffic, expensive :P) but no local hotties.Leave a comment:

I agree with the pay to play, I say that all the time actually.sorry, but running no muffler isn't or ever was "cool" M20s without a muffler sound like garbage.
you play, you pay. I wish you the best of luck.
U.S.C. ( )3 7521 to 7550, inclusive) and the standards and regulations adopted pursuant to that federal act, unless the motor vehicle is equipped with the required motor vehicle pollution control device ( )4 that is correctly installed and in operating condition. No person shall disconnect, modify, or alter any such required device.
7550 is the noise part, and to "measure" the exhaust gasses you need a complete/ sealed exhaust system
I am no rocket scientist, but the way I read this is that the muffler is also part of the "exhaust pollution system", so I see it possibly going both ways.
I would try to bring a exhuast pollution test reciept (later than the ticketdate with, and pics of the exhaust section still being missing on the same time as the test. then put the exhaust section on and hope for the best.
But if I can get away with it, then that's more money to play some more :)Leave a comment:

Like I said, there is plenty of clearance for a muffler.
But overall excitement is a factor at amateur drift events and a loud exhaust helps with that. Eventually I will flange everything and have a muffler in place, but when there are free tires on the line, it's worth it.
And as a kid, you're not cool unless your car is as loud/flashy as your peers' ;)Leave a comment:

Do you choose not run a muffler because you keep knocking holes in them too, like your oil pans, which are a must have to drive the car ?

I agree
I have been to socal many times, whether skateboarding or working it was a fun place to live, but I could not live there. No one smokes in LA until I show up, then they all bum off me.
I lived in norcal and liked it, but the ATL is my "center of the universe".
Now SF, that is a totally different story. As a skateboarder and all around great guy, I envy those people.Leave a comment:

I've only been pulled over once for loud exhaust. The cop asked me if there was hole in my muffler. I just said no, i put a set of glass packs on it. He said ok, then went to his car and came back a few min.s latter and told me to have a nice day. I don't know if he could of gave me a fix it ticket or not since i didn't live in his state (Maryland)?Leave a comment:
